West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and Invest in Bristol and Bath (IBB)

Strengths in robotics

WECA and IBB are very pleased to be a supporter of this year’s Bristol Technology Showcase.

The West of England home to the largest cluster of robotic companies in the UK, supports well-connected academic centres and boasts a dynamic tech ecosystem. It is home to robotics, AI, IoT and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, the largest multi-disciplinary robotics research centre in Europe.

Invest Bristol & Bath, the inward investment arm of the West of England Combined Authority, works closely with the Department of International Trade to promote the region’s opportunities internationally, showcasing our strengths in Human Robotics Interaction, and developing adaptable robotics that interact with the real world.

West of England Mayor Tim Bowles said: “From the days of Brunel, through to the latest developments in robotics and virtual reality, the West of England has been at the cutting edge of technology. We are a world-leading smart region. New technology is a game changer and will help improve the way we live, move around the region and so much more.”
